Originally, Variacs did not have 3 pronged-recepticles, they only had two. Modern electrical outlets have 3. I live in an old pre-war NYC apartment where there are only 2 pronged outlets. I requested that my restored Variac also only have a 2 pronged recepticle and a 2 pronged electrical plug to fit my outlets.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
